Prices are nice but the quality is very poor. I don't think they are at a point where they can manufacture quality equipment (soldering stations excluded) as it is mostly done on a low volume scale.

You're kidding yourselves if you think the Chinese don't build quality products. I just returned from a few trade shows in China and believe me they are building reflow ovens, wave solder machines, X-ray and AOI equipment that is plenty good quality wise. In fact there isn't much of anything left that isn't being built there. Just ask your friendly American SMT vendors like MPM and Universal how much of their equipment is now being manufactured in China.

We just pulled a lot of material out of China. Bad quality was #1 reason. Prices were nice but poor workmanship and cheap material was enough to shut our production down.

China's a big place with a wide spectrum of companies (just like the US & Europe), some very professional, some ok, and some not so good.

Where ever you get fast expansion you will get a high number in the last catagory - whether through lack of experience or people just on the make; but you can find that anywhere in the world.

Don't worry. I forgive you for not understanding my point. Read it again or ask someone who speaks a little better English than you what it means.

Compare the amount of activity between the two. It's a shame, I think, that there's not a comparable forum in English.

Wow, there is alot of activity on that website.....so.....that leads to 1 of 2 conclusions........either...the american's/europeans know what they are doing....or....all the manufacturing is being done in China.
