I have a customer want to add an SMD coil to the board, which they used to hand soldering all the time. I want to know is there footprint/land pattern size that I should follow? Any recommendation?

I would go with wire thickness + 0.4 to 0.8 mm for pad width, and pre-tinned lenght + 0.5mm what seems to me like problem is that it can easily roll off the pads in reflow oven

in computing inductance of core i use L = (NxN)x AL value of core. is it the same for coil that has sectoral winding.

Don't suppose the coil manufacture could make the coil with the leads coming straight out from the winding on opposite sides and on the same plane. Then it can't roll around. SMT pads may have to be staggered a bit. Just a thought.
