Universal makes great conveyors as well. The loader/unloaders can be configured to input boards to the line or buffer them. I actually found a 22" piece on ebay a couple of years ago for 300.00. Worked great!

can you just turn the buffer round, the control panel might be at the other side but thats not a big deal is it.

Hi all, Would anyone happen to possess a soft copy of the electrical schematics for the JOT 214-51.3 FIFO buffer conveyor? I would appreciate if anyone would be willing to gift a copy to me. Best regards Colin

I agree with JDengler. It is easier to service a machine if there are conveyors between them. You need to also consider how the units get transferred, SMEMA signaling or some other method. Some equipment doesn't support this and an output conveyor

This won't help much. At most it may give him a 2-3 board buffer, then what?

We just use a ramp to a cart and the line operator loads them into trays as they come out. There are buffer conveyors or magazine loaders you could use. Or do a little industrial automation with a plc and proximity sensors; combine a ramp and a belt

Personally, I try to keep them to a minimum, as if we put conveyors between the SMT machines I find less effort is made on automating awkward components - it's so easy to add a hand fit operation. We run Loader-Printer-Conveyor-3xSMT-Conveyor-Oven

Is there anything stopping you from replacing the flat belt solution to a continuous running steel roller chain conveyor? - From there (depending upon board temperature) you should be able to buffer your boards in a vertical buffer station if neede
