Base on the PORON foam rubber recommended, is it possible to apply on small BGA chip of 4x4 ball size 0.3mm. Any specific part no and supplier for this type of foam and is it a anti-static material? Would it be possible to punch out at dia. 3mm?

Larger tighter spaced balls will present a problem in sealing the vacuum cup. There will be more leakage in this case. It really depends upon the application. The BGA you mention should not be a major concern. The bigger problems are with bigger

Awhile back there was a thread here about needing to pick a BGA-type component that is dead-bug (ball-side up). The OP was looking for a special nozzle tip that will conform around the balls in order to pick the component. There were a few response

That is a tough one because of package size I agree, as noted previously it would be good to know what the current PCB pad layout is. first thought does go right to an adapter board of course! is this a volume build or just 20-50 pcs? dead bug and ha
