The dewetting is caused by using a silcone based adhesive. Select a tape that is acrylic based. Tapes are a high esd generator. Always use an ionizer.

What masking tape can people recommend for masking the board when conformal coating. I am using a PVA autocoat machine and humiseal 1B31. Current tape, is leaving residue on board when used to hold link wires down whilst glue cures and also when used

Yes Davef, storage condition and long time remaining on shelf could effect pealing strength, but we experimented that by using Polystirene Carrier Tape also this problem was reduced almost to zero. Df, If I am not wrong when you talk about pr

Hi Liza - polystirene monolayer (blend ?) could be sealed at less presure, ie 35-40 PSI. Temprature could be 165-170C. For sure after sealed you shoud make sure the sealing strength (peel strength)should meet min 15-25 N.(bet avg from 25 to 45 N)

Could anyone recommend an esd safe masking tape for conformal coating that does not use a silicone based adhesive? I have looked into 3M's 7419 series and am awaiting samples, curious if there is another brand out there people have used. Thank you

We have a material that is been stick at cover tape, only 1 supplier is failing and only embossed tape packing is failing. A dark spots between tape and component are observed, we already bake material to se if is humidity, is not. We already apply
