Polymide Films PWB

Electronics Forum | Thu May 06 18:31:29 EDT 2004 | Dreamsniper

"Polymide Films absorb a great deal of moisture. Polymide laminates must be baked at more than 1 hour at 100'C or better for a double sided PWB prior to exposing the laminate to elevated temperatures such as that required for soldering. Moisture abso

| We are looking at reflow soldering some Flexi-rigid | pcbs. I have heard that IR reflow soldering can make the Polyimide "self heat" and cause de-lamination. | Does anyone have any info. The thermal problems associated with polyimide rigid/flex de

Kurt: Lots of choices, not many of them good, yano. 1 So LPI has taken over the market pretty nearly 100%, but it won't "tent" reliably, because it is not very viscous when applied and drops into the hole. So then, tenting/plugging with LPI is bad

| I keep hearing about polyimide stencils, but what are they like in terms of registration and aperture accuracy? | You are hearing about polyimide as in polyimide film as Kapton (TM Dupont). This material is the stuff of flex and rigid/flex circuit

| Hadco offers a technology of building in a "buried" capacitance layer (& other embedded passives) in organic PWBs (FR4 for example). see http://www.hadco.com/prod03.htm and a design manual is posted here: http://www.hadco.com/pdfs/bcguide.pdf | I

Comformal Coating Stripper

I stripped the entire board because I had to have the boards troubleshot. Had a high failure rate from the field. The board coating was applied about 5 months ago. I was told by my people anything past 3 days and you will need this type of stripper
