We are being asked to begin rework processes on boards that use lead free solder. Does anyone have any experience in the service field working with lead free?

Some companies claimed their lead free solders wouldnt attack stainless steel, frankly they do and they should not be allowed to get away with these claims. Lead Free does not attack Cast iron

Hi, SAC BGA's in a SnPb reflow process can be achieved by ensuring the temp. on the BGA is at a peak min of 220�C and a time above 207-210�C for 60 - 90 Sec. Lower temperatures have shown incomplete mixing of alloys and some voiding.

CJ, Try contacting your current SnPb supplier. Most, if not all suppliers offer lead free products.
