Hello..anyone who knows how much time agricultural products is allowed to have lead? I know electronics is July this year, how about electronics used in agriculture?

A discussion started this morning an whether we need to add an N2 line to the reflow oven when we switch over to a lead free process. We will be using OA flux. Any thoughts?

EC - I hope you don't mind that I add to your question... We are running lead free assemblies now and parts that normally hang on upside down are falling off. Any advice on this from others new to lead free?

Because some lead free solders are very corrosive to anything but titanium. Also "clean it very well" is kind of a crap shoot, isn't it? Did you get your solder tested for impurities and lead %age after you did the swap?

Is the flux rated for lead free? These higher temps will cause most lead rated fluxes to burn off prior to the wave. Jerry

MF300S is quite an old flux, & a lot has happened since then on the flow solder front - are you sure it's designed for Lead free, or is it just a traditional flux that SHOULD work OK with Lead free?

Are the leads actually pulling off the pads or are the pads coming up as well? Did you ever try this "experiment" before you used lead-free?
