I'm having a problem with my Mydata My9 pick and place. Basically whenever I try to run the placement calibration program or try to have the machine find fiducials, or basically anything with precision, the machine displays a X MOT motor timeout erro

Hey All. I figured it out. It turns out that the problem was simply a loose coupler on the x wagon motor transducer. I had only checked one screw in the past but the other screw was apparently loose as well.

I forgot to mention that I've measured and adjusted the cog play on the x axis and so it is within range, if that applies.

Thanks! I just needed a response like that. I will do all that, and if it's still an issue, I'll change the x wagon encoder right? There are three encoders on the x wagon though? The white one on the x carriage, the white one on the x belt drive mo

Start with fundamentals: Disconnect, clean and reconnect all inner connections, bulk heads, ext. Disconnect, reconnect all connections at the controller. Check wiring harness for conductivity. Clean everything appropriately, lube ways, balls screws

Cant put a finger on it being an encoder that was just a single possibility. You can always hook up a scope to the encoder and see if they are working appropriately. I would look through the machine's utilities and see if there is some debug or more

It's been a minute...but, does the My9 still have MOT boards in the computer cage? If so, swap the MOTz with the MOTx or MOTy, and see if the problem moves. If so, replace the motor controller board. If not, +1 on the encoder or Z-motor. Check fo

So just to update and close this thread, it was the ZFIB board ( the one mounted on top of the theta motor) that was causing the theta motor to error out) Problem fixed. $ 30 dls or so from MYDATA. Hope this helps some one down the road.

robgd3, The Z motor can be purchased separately, however, the theta motor can't. You need to buy the whole midas head. I didn't get as far as dissembling the theta motor casing to get to the theta motor. That was my worse case scenario. We ran thou

Do all of the above (robgd3) In my case the problem was a motor inside the moving head started to give up so it kinda miss the synchro with the other motor on the outside, and in my case we bought the new motor but it took several day to fix with the
