Stencil editing is something that you have to do to do well. And you have to look at the boards after the screen printer and after the oven. Reading white papers ain't gonna cut it. And then there will always be part pad combos that will introduce s

Boy, I step out for a bit and everybody picks on me (just joking). I believe I may have been off base a bit. Checking every bit of your stencil design is very good - I do that too. I calculate LXWXH and reduce or over print where needed, depending

Its not the max temperature that is the issue, its how much energy the oven is capable of transferring to the PCB inside the 4-6 minute window of a typical profile. In a conveyor oven this is achieved by having zones of different temperatures, but th

Just a comment on the Heller 1500. We had 3 at a previous workplace where we never made the Pb-free transition (this was early 2000's). The ovens we had were not designed for and were never used for Pb-free processing yet every one of them had all o

This is cut and paste from a Conceptronics Document - hope it helps you: Following are the lubricants recommended for oven maintenance: 1. To lubricate the conveyor chain use: A. Biral BIO30 -synthetic high temperature oil (highly recommended)

Something else to keep in mind when you reflow using an IR (non-convection) oven. IR reflow is more susceptible to variations in board mass and coloration than convection ovens. Hi mass areas and dark colored parts will cause more variation in your

Hello all, My company specializes in pcb design and subsequent prototype assembly. With that core of business, we will assemble up to 10 boards a week. We currently hand solder and use a reflow hotplate for these boards. We have been getting reques

Thanks for your advice. My business model is fine, but I just find it to be unreasonable that there isn't a "no frills" oven below $3500 that maintains quality. I'll spend that much if I have to as I don't want to mess around with bad solder joints o

That model comes standard without bottom preheaters. Bottom preheaters are an option so I would think it is designed for general use unless you have some very thermally challenging boards. As long as you are within the process window, you'll be fine.

It is about thermal mass and heat dissipation. If you want to be accurate, you should profile each one. If you want to be efficient, You should design all panels to come to the same size. This way variation from panel to panel will be minimal (given
