DEK fine pitch autoflex pin breakage

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 19 19:05:27 EST 1999 | Earl Moon

Folks, I think we are getting closer to being very happy with DEK stencil printers of the 265 GSX variety. However, problems continue arising concering fine pitch autoflex tooling pin breakage. We are told by the British engineering establishment,

Philips Comet L004 Feedback Error

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 09 13:19:38 EDT 2009 | emanuel

Just in case somebody will bump in the same situation and looks for a possible solution, the problem was with a small 2 pin connector that feeds one of the W DC motors. The connector looked ok, but one of the pins pulled a little out and was making

Panasert mv2f floppy drive replacement

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 23 05:02:34 EDT 2020 | gabriel1blue

I change the settings to match another machine we have and that actually got the original drives working after replacing the belt. I ordered an adapter that will connect to the 26 pin flat cable and adapt to a 34 pin connector and pull the power from

Problem with less soldering material on the pins

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 20 02:44:39 EDT 2017 | tsvetan

The hole is too big, you should reduce the size in the next PCB revision. The middle joint is soldered at low temperature you can see how the solder didn't distributed evently and cooled on waves. The solder joint at the bottom didn't wet the capac

Universal GSM Feeder Issues

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 13 05:28:45 EDT 2015 | dilogic

We had occasional problems and usually solve it by pulling out pogo pins slightly to extend them a bit... Also note that electric feeders have "reel empty" sensor that gives the same error message (if you are using cut tape strips without reel)

Connector Removal

Electronics Forum | Wed May 29 12:41:46 EDT 2002 | peterson

I'm out here on the leftcoast. Actually, our method for removal is: break down the sides, pull each pin individually. It's tedious and time consuming, but it can be accomplished with little risk of damaging the board. Customers are curious, however.

Looking for expert opinions, Solderability

I am actually getting opinions that point to contaminated copper under the HASL finish. We've seen some "fish eyes" where the HASL is pulled away from the copper exposing a pin hole of copper that can be seen through the HASL finsh. We are planning o

Bareco wax on pressfit connectors?

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 27 17:24:34 EST 2003 | pauld

Forgive the non-SMT question. That's why I hate through hole boards. Has anyone ever used Bareco wax on pressfit connectors, and how do you produce a consistent process for its application? Any drawbacks? Background: We have found a design issue with

Reflow soldering lead onto much larger pad

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 09 10:45:56 EST 2015 | huske

I've put down a SOT223, close enough to your 3pin transistor, in the same situation you have. The large pin was to be soldered on a large exposed ground plane in the corner of a board, over 2"x2" exposed area. We left the paste file as is, so where

Fiducials on feeders

Electronics Forum | Wed May 22 15:56:43 EDT 2002 | stefwitt

The play of the tape is quite significant as I mentioned in an earlier thread. Tape width can vary between 8.1 +/- 0.2mm. Demos on 0201's are most likely done with 8.1 +/- 0.05mm tape. I guess you are referring to the cover tape pull, which can dispo
