I need to purchase a rework tool mainly for QFP's including 30mm x 30mm. I was looking at a Metcal QX2 and a Pace TF200. I would welcome any comments on these two products or any other suggestions. Also, is a preheater necessary?

The Metcal will run you around $5,000.00. The Pace is over $6,000.00. Check out Hakko model 852/853 for under $2,000.00 If your in the NewEngland area call us we sell them also.

Can anybody give me feed back on the pro and cons of using Pace, OK, Hakko, Metcal, etc... equipment in their rework processes? I need to set up a low volume rework station for mixed technology boards. Would appreciate any suggestions.

When Air-Vac introduced an IR system at a show in San Jose, people though it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. For obvious reasons they discontinued the short life of the IR systems and implemented hot air into their rework stations. Sales

We are looking for a new BGA rework station. We got an ERSA IR550A and we are not very satisfied. I'm not sure that IR reflow is the better solution because the top-side heating is too large. I think is better with a convection "forced-air" heat.

I have evaluated SRT, Air-Vac and Conceptronic rework stations. All three machines offer great BGA and Micro BGA rework capability. But the one I have preferred is the Conceptronic Freedom 2000, as a matter of fact I have purchased two freedom 2000 i
