How do you identify Lead Free Boards from Sn/Pb?

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 07 04:15:09 EDT 2005 | GS

do not forget,ROHS Directive does not allow other chemical substances (ie. PBB, PBDE,....) that could be in PCBs, so the PCB must be ROHS compliant and not only Pb Free. That means be carefully when marking PCB or PBAs. Regards..........GS

RoHS and Non-RoHS products in same ICT Fixture

yeah, I wonder what will be the next? "Do not touch with same fingers PCBs with SnPb and Lead free PCBs as some molecules of lead may stick to your fingers" :D

Block repeat and fiducial relation

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 22 15:26:18 EDT 2008 | rway

I rarely use blk fiducials. But when I do, they are always programmed after the fids. It's the fids that sets your general alignment of the panel. I only use blk fidus for thin pcbs (30 mil) that tend to warp when on the conveyor.

0.4mm PCB Thickness - production issues

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 13 20:04:37 EDT 2006 | mika

Hi, We have a customer that want us to produce a single sided 0.4 x 100 x 50 mm size RoHS pcba approx 1000 of them. The board only contains three 2.54mm pitch Non P.I.P, SMT-connectors. We have never produced such a thin pcb:s before. We are thinkin

RoHS Board Delamination

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 24 10:16:07 EDT 2006 | markb

SWAG, The reason that our suppliers are focusing on moisture is that vapor pressue increases exponentially with temperature. So the higher temp processing of RoHS boards causes a significant increase of vapor pressure, which may cause delamination

How do you identify Lead Free Boards from Sn/Pb?

Electronics Forum | Sat Oct 08 00:49:59 EDT 2005 | Mika

We do the following things: 1.) RoHS PCB:s is marked with a code. This is to identify that the PCB:s itself are RoHS compliant. 2.) If it is a true RoHS PCBA; we put a printed label with a green "texture" on the PCBA. 3.) If it is a mixed PB free/PB;

Lead free questions

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 06 08:55:14 EST 2005 | Indy

yes you can use lead-free components and/or lead-free solder paste on Sn/Pb PCBs. You do get reliable joints. as already mentioned, it doesn't meet the WEEE and RoHS requirement. Indy
