The right way in your case is to use shield with cover. Place, reflow, remove shield pick up rails/tabs, AOI, close cover.

I have a board that has surface mount on both sides . On this board is a 22pin connector which is the only thru-hole part.This part is located on the component side. I would like to reflow this part. Can this be done? If so, how can this be done?

Remove,clean, re-ball(or use new part), reflow. Body of the part is designed to withstand heat that is higher than the melting point of the balls alloy.

I have a 10k thermistor to solder to a board, the problem is that the thermistor can't absorbe more then 105 degree C and as soon as I send it through the reflow oven or hand solder it, the part internaly over heat giving inconsistent readings. Any
