Manncorp has introduced a pick-and-place system aimed at OEMs who wish to prototype and perform other short-run PCB assembly in-house. Utilizing newly developed cut strip feeders, the 7700-FV provides the high precision and versatility needed for placement of today’s advanced SMDs, including 0402 chip components, CSPs, BGAs, and fine pitch QFPs. Even 0201s can be mounted with optional nozzle and feeder.

In response to increased interest from OEMs aiming to cut costs by bringing PCB assembly in-house, Manncorp has expanded the top end of its turnkey lines. The two new systems are the “High-Throughput Flex Line” which includes twin MC-385 pick and place machines with a combined placement rate of 10,000 cph, and the “Box Builder Line” with the MC-387 placer that houses a huge 224-feeder capacity.

Yamaha Motor Co. is finalizing an aggressive transition plan to incorporate the Hitachi Sigma Mounter Platform into their already extensive portfolio of SMT Mounters, Printers, Dispensers, Hybrid Placers and Inspection / X-Ray Machines. This follows the announcement in September 2014 whereby Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (TOKYO: 8036; Hitachi High-Tech) resolved to withdraw from the chip mounter business, and concluded a contract to partially transfer assets related to the surface mounter business to Yamaha.

YAMAHA MOTOR IM and AEGIS Software announce that a technology agreement has been reached with the two companies. AEGIS is the first MES supplier to join YAMAHA’s new 3rd party certification program. As part of this certification, AEGIS will have access to YAMAHA’s API information providing mutual customers with a solution for programming their equipment offline.
