0603 marking

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 30 11:10:43 EST 2000 | Gary Kemp

Is the same marking protocol used when identifying 0603, 0402, etc.. components? For instance, would a 27.4K ohm 1% resistor still have four (4) characters to identify if the body color is black? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Plenty of 0805 inductors around, up to 470mH, but nothing that is 26mH. Coilcraft do 23.5mH or 29mH - see https://www.coilcraft.com/getmedia/18dd250a-2b92-4f9a-bcee-3624995acc0f/0302cs.pdf Eaton do a 27mH 0805 - see https://www.eaton.com/content/dam

At one point in time we were putting TI NanoStar parts on these particular boards. You don't want to attempt this at home! Thank God they took them off. Part was 1.45 X 1mm with 6 .1mm balls. They were a pain in the A$$. We had about a 90% success ra
