To be honest with you, I'm not sure. Just started working here and they were using U Shaped aperatures on 0603 caps/resistors and getting dry pads. After checking out the programming, no matter how much I slow down the screen printer or what I do,

Make sure that the side of the square is the diameter of the pad, That is that the circle is inside the square not that the square is inside the circle. normally the aperatures are smaller than the pad to get gasketing. In this case the idea is to

You might want to check your paste application. We eliminated this problem with reduced aperatures, and homeplate designs on our stencil. The paste process is very important in eliminating solder balls. See Solder aperature guidlines in the forum.

Insufficient Solder Paste

Questions are: * Is the stencil design proper to provide the correct amount of solder paste? * Is the stencil design proper to provide for release of solder paste? * Is solder paste filling the stencil aperatures, prior to separation? * Are stencil a

Hey all- My question is this: My stencil printer operator has said that he has to wipe our 6-mil stencil each pass to get the paste in the 20-mill pitch aperatures for a QFP to release well. We are using Amtech NC-559 type 3 paste with 89.5% metal

I've had good luck with round pads, for 0603 and 0402.
