Electronics Forum | Wed May 14 17:56:19 EDT 2003 | bradlanger

Does anybody have any advice on how to get a decent profile out of a 4 zone IR oven? Should top heat and bottom heat be proportionate? Are there any tricks to use?

QFN Rework Issues

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 13 12:39:17 EST 2019 | SMTA-Joe

Would we be able to schedule a demo for this model? If so, would this have the IR top heater as well? In the event IR bottom heating does not work, are there models with alignment/placement assistance that we can just use with a conventional hotpla

QFN Rework Issues

We’ve done similar projects. FR-811 with camera system for alignment. More cost effective than split vision. Bottom heat uses solid surface for contact heating similar to heating microwave module chassis. Our rep can arrange a demo if you haven’t

Trouble reworking Xilinx 4044XL BGA chip

The corner balls are supposed to collapse, but at roughly the same time as the other balls collapse. Also, those balls are located in the place that isthe easiest to get hot. Think about cranking-up the bottom heat, waiting, and slowing down the pr

Lead free contamination at reflow

Electronics Forum | Fri May 19 10:05:37 EDT 2006 | Loco

I think Mr Guru likes to smoke his joints leaded. Seriously, Soltec offers 'leadfree upgrade kits'. You should be fine with 8 zones, but if you don't have bottom heating, you might want to consider inserting some in your reflow (peak) zones. Give

Reflow Oven

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 13 11:21:04 EDT 2019 | slthomas

A profiler can't distinguish where your heat is coming from, so if you're significantly imbalanced between top and bottom heat (could be an oven problem or your settings) it might still be a cause. You don't say whether or not your top and bottom s

Wave Cassettes and Heat convection

we worked out that the wave soldering cassettes Duratstone material takes alomst 35 degree away from the surface of the pcb, and the speed is already too slow it should be over 1.0 - 1.8 meters a minute but its now already 82 cm a minute, in order to

Heller vs. Vitronics

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 21 13:38:10 EST 2006 | billwestiet

Lead-Free BGA Rework

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 26 15:28:01 EDT 2007 | hegemon

There are a lot of variables in BGA rework in general, and the switch to lead free has only magnified some of the sore spots. Perhaps with a little bit more information someone here can be of help. What is the size and thickness of the PCB? What
