SN100C is the Nihon solder. I had wave solder the board using SAC. Then had to put on solder pot, which had SN100C (nihon) solder. I think I went upto 130-135 deg C.. Let me try cooking it to 150degC Thanks

What is nihon solder and which SAC alloy? Try using hot air to preheat the board to about 150C if you can, then try to remove the solder. Sucking pbfree from holes is very difficult since you have to achieve the alloys melting point throughout the

Try Koki S03X7C-56M*** it has colbalt in which prolongs the tip life. I have also heard that the Nihon Superior SN100C does this too, however in our trials the Koki Soldered better.

Yes, if cost is the concern. You can consider to try other alloys, like SCN from Nihon or SCS from Singapore Asahi, cost is definitely cheaper than SAC and SACX. I think the price is around 15~20 USD per Kg.

Sn/Cu/Ni is introducted to me in wavesoldering lead free process. Around in our industry, we have a plenty of info. about SAC but not on this alloy. The distributor showed me some information about this alloy including less dross, more shiny /smoot

Hi Jay, please let us know your inputs from the seminar regarding SN100 Nihon solder from FCT. This solder seems to have a higher melting temp of 221C. It prints well and visually looks similar to SAC alloy. Have no reliabilty data though. Jay

SN100C (the manufacturer company is Nihon Superior) it is sold by two companies in USA AIM and Krayden, we are still in the process of evaluation for lead-free, this alloy is mostly use in Europe and Asia. You can find more information in this link
