PCb surface Resistance

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 18 08:19:12 EDT 1999 | Sergio Luiz Vito

There is a PCB with SMD components glued on bottomside. When I make tests for checking the resistance of glue the result is a break in the surface of PCB. How can I measure the surface resistance of PCB surface? How can I increase this resistance?

Soldering on Titanium surface

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 09 10:46:58 EST 2003 | Peter

Hi. Is there anyone with experience in soldering standard smd on a pvd (physical vapor deposited) titanium surface? Are there any rules to obey? Especially concering solder paste, surface treatment, reflow profile and oven etc. Thanks

Calculating PCB surface area

I think what David was getting at was, as an example. Take a cubic inch of gold. Surface area = 6 sq/in. Volume = 1 cu/in. Water displacement = X. Mass = Y Roll that cube of gold out to a micron thick. Surface area = football pitch. Volume = 1 cu/i

dual sided surface mount

Hello everyone. We are interested in doing double sided surface mount. What methods are there for doing this. I know you can wave solder some smt components, but what are the limitations. Is there a method of doing this that uses 2 different solder p

Claude is right, however, this may work: Dip the empty board in paint and let the access paint drip off. Measure the volume of the paint before and after. Dip a populated board and measure how much more paint was required in percent. Measure the surf

Hello Everyone, We are having some problem with Palladium-Silver surface finish. We have ceramic components with the above surface finish. When we try to assemble these on Sn/Pb solder, we are observing open joints. If we reflow the compt for more t

Bill: I'd expect better gasketing on a nice flat solder mask surface rather than the edge of the stencil opening mashed down on a irregular shaped hunk of solder attached to a pad. Stop thinking and get printing Dave F

Different Solder types are not needed. Surface tension will hold most. Plenty of info in the archives about reflow profiles, weight limitations, etc...

Palladium silver surface finish

Indy, We use Palladium silver surface finish parts for silver epoxy attached parts only. It is our understanding that this finish is not for solder, but only silver epoxy attach. I expect that is you problem. Dave
