it can adjusted per the machine and your boards, Not a fix for every board, also if you are talking about the LF wave soldering process, it should be moved to largr angle compared to the tranditional sn/pb soldering

most machines have fixed angle of 6 deg. some are adjustable from 5 - 7 deg., but 6 is most popular.

Try lifting the part with a small piece of paper. I've seen caps that did this and giving the flux a way to vent out the top side of the board got rid of the blow holes. It'll take ya 2 seconds to to try - that plus the 3 minutes to wave solder.

Dave, There is not really a �smart� or scientific way to check this but I know of easy ways and very effective ways. Fex. an easy way to check is with a 3� spatula, you hold the spatula at the same angle as the board and drag trough the wave simula
