Hi all, Need some advice on wavesolder pinholes issues. The PCBs are stored in a warehouse for 6 months and not vacuum packed. Before wavesodlering, boards are baked 2 hrs at 110 deg. But every piece of it has pinholes at random locations. PCB i

We also had that issue and feel, as Mr wolfgang feels, That handling or packaging may be an issue. The adhesive bond may be partially fractured and releasing in the wavesolder.

| What are the factors that go into determining PCB Board temperature requirements for the Wavesolder process? Most of the recipes I've seen call for preheating the PCB to around 230F - 250F. This temp is about 210F - 230F below the typical solder te

Pin Holes can be caused by many things. Does the problem come and go?? If so, see if there is a correlation to lot numbers on the boards or vendor. This could indicate a supplier issue.. possibly with the mask. Look at your soldered assemblies und

Also the preheating of the board is done to help evaporate any water/alcohol that is in the flux - water is a big problem in No-clean processes. From our experience, a temp range around 200f - no more than 220f is ideal for the bigger boards, but tem
