Excessive Time above Liquidus will cause a solder joint to become extremely brittle. Any shock or stress to the joint can lead to a failure.

Hi Matt, What printer are you using? you may be able to get an envronmental unit for it to keep the paste cooler & at the right humidity for longer, thus extending it's effective window. Cheers, Rob.

Have any of you ever experienced minor eruptions in your solder bath while it is heating up? Our solder bath splashes solder while it's heating. Once the bath is molten, it no longer does. Can anyone suggest a cause?

Make sure you find out that short to longer ovens are both Lead-Free capable. If you want respond here on what they say for future reference for people.

We've had similar problems with Indium 6.2 water soluble paste. We reduced our voiding by implementing a longer soak and lower peak temperature.

I found the Mirtec got faster and faster to program the longer we had it. Both from a learning curve point of view and a building the library point of view. And it was reasonably fast to program at the start anyways.

No max spacing spec. except that it should not be so far away from the other one that it is no longer on the board! IPC 782 shows .5mm spacing for the min.
