Alot of the companies out there use Standards developed internally, centered around there paste, equipment, and reflow processes. Normally you will see either 5mil or 6mil stencils used for everything in house with the exceptions of specific boards.(

20 mil qfp bridging

Hello Having a problem with bridging on 20mil pitch qfp, only on the lead groups where squeegee goes over width of apertures. Using MPM sp-200 semi-auto, chem-etch stencil, 9-10mil width opening 100 durometer blade. Getting "tails" on deposits. Trie

We use a homeplate design with 80% coverage on the tab, and 100% coverage on the leads 6mil stencil. All of our stencils are laser cut electropolished. We have had good success with this.

Step stencil troubles

Step stencils are used but only when necessary. One reason to use one would be a PCB with 12 mil pitch and very large coils or something of that nature. The 12 mil pitch part would require a 4 mil thick stencil to ensure release while it would caus

Depends on what you mean by shifting towards each other. Otherwise, 7 mil should be fine for 0603. I've used 6mil, 7mil and 8 mil without problems. Generally, stencil thickness won't have a bearing on "shifting" parts. Check placement. Make su
