Well first off I wouldn't evaluate paste for a wave process. I would use solder bar instead. Flux - top side fillets and no shorting on the solder side, does it clean well after processing if using water soluble flux. How wide is the process win

Hi, I will focus on the flux one more time. Try different amount(usually more flux should give you better result). Also depends what kind of flux you are using? Water based or alchohol based? Try with another type that you are using. Check the spee

For Linear Tech LGA's we solder bump the LGA using a .30mm solder ball then reflow with a tacky flux. This will provide a void free solder joint and adds a little height to the solder joint in case you use a flux that you want to clean from under th

We do this quote often with our older Summit machine. there are a few ways to do this. all of these are assuming you have parts on the boards already and are working around them. 1- if you have a good tech that can add solder to the pads on the PCB a

Hello guys, I´m pretty new on pcba process and I´m writing to see if you can help me, we have combo process om pcb for UPS boards and we are facing a lot of shorts after wave the boards. We did few tests with different fluxes different profiles chan

On the flux reside issue that is gumming up your test probe pogos ... Short term, clean what's in process with a aerosol flux cleaner solvent. Ask your flux supplier for recommendations. Longer term, recognizing that there is no fix, your improveme

We're currently using no-clean flux (SR-12) in a no-clean manual soldering process. The brownish flux residue impedes direct visual inspection of the solder joints. Therefore, we're forced to clean the residue off. (1) Is there testing we can do

My company currently uses water soluble paste for our SMT process. We were having trouble retaining hot water in our in line, closed loop DI cleaner. The cleaner kept shutting down when the water temp. dropped below 125C. As a result, the conveyor

Are you spray fluxing ? If so, check that you are getting flux onto the whole pcb uniformly.... That BLT flux is a water based material, are you getting rid of all the water in the preheat before you get to the wave ( can you hear any spitting as t

Spray fluxing yes but have checked the uniformity by using a fluxometer. Also have put boards through with only flux and preheat. no wave up to see if the carrier is being burnt off. I will look into the skip plating issue. Thanks again
