Arguments against 1(or 2)-ethoxy-propanol (aka SC01)?

Electronics Forum | Sat Jul 23 18:13:37 EDT 2016 | ttheis

I don't understand why you think I'm fear mongering simply because I'm pointing out that acetone has potential hazards vs. water. Sure it may be less hazardous than IPA but I never suggested using IPA for anything so I don't know why you are focusing

Larry: You're correct to question this: * We don't like to run raw paste through our aqueous cleaner. It makes a blinking mess. Your entire machine is probably now coated with hazardous material ... well at least the first tank and the out-bound

Re: Dusted By Dross

I just wanted to add a comment to the newbies, that dross must be recycled or it is considered a hazardous waste by the EPA. If you recycle it you can avoid a lot of documentation requirements needed for hazardous wastes, but you still need to have d

Lead vapor

Alloying lead does not affect its vapor temperature. As you and others mentioned, the vapor temperature is well out of the range of your processing temperatures. Some people concern themselves about potential health hazards of lead by thinking abou

On OSHA ...

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 04 17:18:15 EST 2012 | davef

Dan: OSHA is going to expect that you have a safety plan with lockout/tagout, blood bourne pathogen control, hazardous material spill remediation procedures, first aid preparedness, emergency flushing, etc. While not required specifically in the co

Acetone is flammable and hazardous to deal with. The fewer fire hazards and nasty fumes the better in my opinion. I would either go with a alcohol based no-clean for economical processesing and boards that can't be washed, or water washable if you ca

flammable and hazardous to deal with Just want to point out that this is redundant, the only hazard is flammability. Acetone is about as non-toxic as it gets (as long is it isn't in your EYES) and probably *the* most safety-studied solvent in histo
