I can't claim to be an expert....I've just bought a used RPS, and it'll be my first...but, after reading through their manual, and working on setting things up, I'd say: -Conceptually, I like the idea of moving the board rather than moving the entir

I used method 'A' but I leave the wave on. I use a stainless steal brush like 7248T13 on McMaster-Carr.com. This way I can apply the acid and scrub the nozzle. Another important part is get a small brush to push down into the nozzle to make sure y

I mean...there are a ton of possibilities for bridging on selective solder before you ever get to alloy purity. Are the bridges happening consistently in the same spot? Are the leads too long? Can you modify the approach/exit/peel off to address? Wh

Here are the nozzles that soaked, but didn't get tinned. Since the solder joints also had yellow, I am wondering if the contamination is lingering in the solder pot, and getting on the joints. The Superior is never applied to a board. In the board

If you're using a good quality nozzle, you can clean the oxidation off with a wire brush and an emery cloth. Just make sure you re-tin it very well before you use it.

Yep, done it previously with a multipot machine. Using with wirefeed to top up the pots means you only have a contamintion risk when you fit a new top up reel. Used separate nozzles for both, but theoretically using titanium nozzles would mean no c

We did not try using water. Once the nozzles were left in the pot a while longer, the yellow goes away. Suggesting that it's cooking off.

Hi Tom, I did talk to Bob Gilbert about the sn100c. His comment is that it is a nickle stabalized alloy. Simplisticly, the tin and copper molecules would rather bond with the nickle. He also mentioned that with the SAC alloys, the manufactuers were
