Quad 3c/4c Z-Rod Precautions

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 20 18:07:52 EDT 2006 | lheiss

It wasn't my idea to reset all the mod codes. I was just doing what the guy on the other end of the phone said. I'm working on straighting the Z-Rod now and have a new one on the way as well as a grease kit. I've only checked with one company on d

Quad 4c Nozzle Height Saga

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 10 12:32:08 EDT 2006 | RLM

Larry, I have had this problem in the past. It turns out that there wasn't enough "Z" on our nozzle pickup locations. When a nozzle change occured the nozzle would not be fully seated on the Z-rod. When the Z-rod is driven down to pick the first part

1281x1281 is probably your total quad align window. Which usually means your scanning under the part. Try to scan more towards the top....instead of 20 try 5. It could be the nozzle is not seating on good or the spring on the z-rod is weak and when t

Quad 4C MK2, Z axis drift

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 25 15:12:14 EDT 2015 | marcelorotofrance

Hi, Bob you're right. I replaced the Z-rod and the machine started to go alright. When I examined the head's mechanism I omitted to check the most exposed an delicate part... my bad. The old Z-rod came with the machine, and its slide movement was loc

Quad 4C pickup limit error

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 25 08:22:41 EDT 2016 | bobpan

If I have to guess then I would say the machine is first picking up a larger nozzle to pick up this part.....the nozzle is not seating on the z-rod correctly and causing a problem. Check to make sure the nozzle is being mounted correctly. You may als

Quad 4C pickup limit error

If its a tall part and you are trying to scan it lower than 200 or so...you can have this problem (limit error). Thinking of things to look at.....Is your z-rod spring sticking? Push up on it and it should spring back with NO hesitation...if it does.

QSP-2 Head Nozzle Runout Exceeded. Need Help Please!

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 20 10:44:31 EST 2017 | bobpan

The z-rod bellows on head 2 and head 3 are slightly bent. The machine will show you this error if the runout is over 6.5 mils. This is usually caused by too much z when picking parts out of a vib or tray feeder. The machine will probably run. I ha

Quad 3c/4c Z-Rod Precautions

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 20 18:12:07 EDT 2006 | lheiss

I forgot to ask if anyone knows what numbers I should get for function 30, nozzle height and center of rotation? I'm getting 365 for height and 12314 for center of rotation. I know it isn't 12.314 inches out!

Quad 4c pretending to place components

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 26 11:05:44 EDT 2006 | slthomas

You might also have a dirty/sticky Z-rod resulting in the same problem, although ordinarily you'll see a lot of missed pickups as well.

Quadalign set up

Electronics Forum | Mon Sep 28 06:03:28 EDT 2009 | bobpan

You are probably scanning below the part. Adjust the scan height closer to 0 ex..(.005) and see if that works. If not....its probably the z-rod and the nozzle not seating on it correctly. Good luck
