I have a customer who's solder paste is drying out on their stencils. Humidity 40-45, Temp 70degrees, no air blowing on stencil, no cleaning stencils with chemicals. Handling of paste is done correctly. I'm thinking maybe the paste froze during shipm

What happens as solder paste is used when it becomes un-usable? Does it dry out due to flux evaporation or does it absorb to much moisture from the air which changes its composition too much? Now for the big question. I had an operator add flux to t

| | We have developed a new process for removing moisture from surface mount devices. We have one site where PCB laminate drying has been reduced to 1.5 hours. A standard oven took 4 hours to do the job. I am looking for a firm who does large scale b

Here is a nugget from the Data Sheet... Wave Soldering: Excess moisture on the PCB during soldering may lead to random solder balling and poor wetting of some solder joints. IT IS IMPORTANT that the flux solvent carrier (water) is fully evaporated a

This is not an HVAC unit. This is a small unit attached to a production machine to keep the solder paste from drying out prematurely or slumping. The volume of air being cooled and desicated would be less than 3 or 4 cubic meters.

It all depends on the quantity and the type of product / quality requirements. Manual placement for 20 mil pitch is not _that_ hard. Another advantage of hand soldering is that you don't have to worry about the moisture level of the replacement par

Bill, We only allow 3 boards to be printed in front of the pick and place equipment. It is important to keep the abandon time to a minimum. You did not mention the paste that you use. Do you use no-clean or water soluble? Do you use lead free?
