Hi, Thanks. Waitng for your reponse. BTW, if I were to perform a test as below will this give me some result to indicate if the component is defective. 1) Print solder paste on plain PCB without copper track. 2) Mount the QFP & reflow 3) If the sol

You want the backplate set up so that when there's no PCB the wave stands still or moves towards the PCB. When the PCB moves over the wave, it should just pull the wave towards the back (in the same direction as the PCB). This will help reduce brid

0201 Feeders are a different height than regular 8X2's I have put them on a surface plate and measured them with a height gauge. FYI: They make 0201C (Capacitor) and 0201R (Resistor)Again the difference between the two is height. Also it is CRITI

See if you can find someone with an XRF machine or talk to your Current Board house they probably have this equiptment if they run ENIG or Silver finishes. I would stop in with some boards your having issues with and have them measure the thickness.

I dont know if this is related, but there appears to be a blister/measle in the upper right corner of the Q19 large pad. (upper right of Q19 as you are facing the photo) If your profile and paste is good, my bet would be that there is something wron

Solder Splash

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 17 09:24:43 EDT 2008 | rgduval

Could it be from a dirty stencil, rather than from the pick and place operation? We've seen a number of occurences recently with solder balls near some of our fine pitch components...we eventually diagnosed as dirty stencils...excess solder on the b

I think Real Chunks has your answer home plat or reverse home plate or like we use a 10% reduction on most aptures vs pad I think your problem is to much paste on the pads we used to see a lot of that with 8mil stencil thicknes on our 1206 caps went

Imm Silver tarnish?

Colorization is relatively uniform across the board. "Processing" is first pass reflow. I belive MacDermid is the ImmAg supplier. Plating thickness has not been determined, our XRF is being revitalized. Elemental analysis did show a large copper
