force between the pad and laminate material

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 11 22:06:06 EDT 2002 | scottxiao

I encounter the problem, it is easy for pad(copper) to drop off from the PCB, which is Ni/Au finish. so my question is whether there is any specification about the force between pad and laminate material, and does the PCB corpoartion test this parame

Micro BGA pads, adhesion to laminate

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 09 16:12:01 EDT 2003 | Matt Kehoe

Right-o Dave, Thats the 2 lifted pads turned upside down so actually you are looking at the bottom of the base copper where it used to be attached to the laminate. mk

Implemented 6 months ago and have noticed no difference in frequency of farting. Sorry, could not resist. Have seen delamination problem with IS-410 laminate. What laminate is everyone else using?

Questions are: * Is the blistering in the solder mask or the laminate? * If the blistering is in the solder mask, what do the blisters look like [eg, size, quantity, distribution, etc]? * If the blistering is in the laminate, what do the blisters loo

Td and Tg

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 27 13:08:30 EDT 2008 | vladig

Td - is the degradation temperature for a laminate (board), while Tg - is glass transition one. There is one more (even more important) - delta Tg. They characterize the quality of the laminate material. Regards, Vlad www.sentec.ca

Delamination effect in FR1 type PCB (Lead free soldering)

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 30 08:14:45 EST 2013 | jax

I was unaware of any Pb-Free process capable FR-1 laminate... not to mention capable of Though Hole plating that would be expected when wave soldering. What is the Td and Z-expansion for the laminate you are using?

Very thin laminate substrate problem with solder printing

I just assume when you have laminates that thin, it will invariably be warped in some degree. I have worked on a few and I have never seen one that is not warped consistently.

PCBA was swollen after SMD

Forgot to ask earlier - what is the TG rating for your laminate? If not selected already, use a high TG rating like TG155 or TG170 laminates for the ROHS temps. Never saw swollen PCBAs with such rated PCBs to date.
