Ion Chromatography (IC) qualification

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 13 09:15:07 EDT 2011 | blnorman

Have used IC for years, but I'm not familiar with that, ROSE maybe. Its a stretch, but maybe R/O/I would be rosin/resin, organic, or inorganic for the type flux being used?

Chiakl Ion Chromatography has been perfectly described by Dave, but here are a couple of extra considerations: Ion Chromatography will tell you precisely what is present on the surface of your board/assembly but it will not tell you whether it will b

Ionic Contamination Acceptance Criteria

Hi, Can you guide with the above? I read ROSE Test is a process control tool. What about Ion Chromatography, SIR and FT-IR. What Accpetance Criteria will I use for our assembly when using WS Flux? My WS Flus says it has 0% Halide so What can Ion Chr

Monitoring Cleanliness of No-clean Assembly

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 26 17:40:21 EDT 2003 | Steve

Wanted to inquire if anyone has a way to monitor cleanliness of boards that are assembled with a no-clean process. I'm aware that incoming board cleanliness can be monitored, however, I am after checking of cleanliness of boards after assembly. Wit

Yes Ion Chromatography can when using a isolated extraction system called the C3 tester. Please email me or call of-line and we can show you what we have done for others to not only idendity the flux cleanliness levels but to qualify the cleaning pr

Immersion of PWB

Hi, I wanna know if I immerse my fully populated PWB in a solution with 90% IPA and 10% De-ionized water at 80'C, will there be a problem or issue? Will my board or components be damaged? Will my PWM Mask peel off? What are the possible damage that

Looking for ionic contamination test lab in Taiwan

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 04 21:06:07 EST 2009 | shan

I'm looking for test labs in Taiwan that are capable of performing ionic contamination testing on small to medium sized SMT boards. I'm interested in both ion chromatography and ROSE test methodologies. Is anyone aware of any labs performing contami

PCB Acceptance Standards

IPC-TM-650 is a works well. Ionic conductivity is a good rule of thumb but I prefer ION Chromatography this will help determine the residues left behind from the fab process. There are a bunch of ways to determine solderabiltiy- Wet Balance and SERA

Board change and solder not adhereing completely

From what you are saying................If I hear ya correctly - There is no "Proctective" on the Pads (OSP, HASL....) You will be hard pressed soldering to bare copper. This can not be right. My suggestion- go polyimide with electroptical connecti
