I have used KIC data acquisition equipment for over 11 years. Slim kic, sideKic and Kic2000, prophet etc... The 9 volt battry changes in seconds. Gimme a break. The internals don't reach 54Celsius. If it came down to batteries, I bet KIC would t

Good Afternoon, I'm am probably asking a question that has been answered a million times but I am looking for other operators and process engineer feedback on the slim kic 2000 profiling unit. I have played with the unit several times and am not to s

I agree with Idumont.....KIC works great for me, it has 9 inputs, and is pretty good at predicting the direction that you may need to tweak your profile, the only thing is I think that these untis ( slim kic 2000) are fairly spendy. not sure though,

We provide each assembly its own recipe then customize the unique recipe as required, using a SlimKIC 2000 profiler. This tool allows precise control of the reflow process and accounts for the component and layer densities of each board. This appro

Bingo! In my career, I've used Wave Solder optimizer and the WaveRIDER. Pro's and Con's to both. I did a GR&R on both as well, and WaveRIDER came out on top. The main challenge is to get the operators to use it. I've found that the operators wer

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding wavesoldering and measuring if a proces/machine is in control. I made a custom carrier for measuring contact time, parallelism, solder temperature, coveyorspeed and some data of the preheat section. The s

Lets not get drawn into making more of the amount of training required in order to be able to develop an effective reflow recipe than is necessary. A low-skilled operator with about one hour's training can setup the solder reflow oven. Consider co

Hello Brad, We are running the Slim Kic 2000. We have found the predictions to be fairly accurate as long as the suggested change is within 20 degrees of the original recipie. As a test I ran a board with the wrong profile. The predictions got me wi

I'm needing some info in regards to the usage of a Wave Rider. What is it basically used for? I have to implement one into our process and I'm trying to find out what some others use it for. This is going to take the place of our Slim Kic and glass p

I would like to hear any feed back concerning the Slim-Kic prophet system. Does it deliver what is promised? From what I can tell from the demo its a great idea. Please let me know what you think Mike
