Is there a need for a simple application to merge a bill of material with the xy placement data into a single (or top/bottom) files for machine programming? ie. add a part number column to the xy data, including "N/A" for parts not found in the BoM?

Look on this forum for a link to SMTMaestro which does just that. Fab3000 is almost there with its BOM tools and has a bunch of handy features, its just that they have not considered this use case instead focusing on recreating the centroid from gerb

There are as many CAD formats as there are BOM formats, but you should really try SMT-Maestro as it may fit your needs perfectly. The program is available from http://www.smtinfo.net/smtmaestro/smtmaestro.html

AEGIS sells a software product specifically for this called CircuitCAM. We also can handle comparisons of BOM to CAD, BOM to BOM revisions and handle an array of formats and file types. For more information you can go to http://www.aiscorp.com or c

Send me your e-mail. I have a program, which joins BOM into a placement file. The program doesn't have an author nor a copyright note = shareware. stefwitt@netzero.net

Bill, If you are using a regular A3-sized scanner (roughly 12x16), how do you scan larger stencils or larger baords? Can you do multiple scans and merge the pictures? Frank

Hey Steve....hahaha.....you dont have to yeild ...just merge....anyways if you create a board directory i think thats when you will be able to make a new program. Remember to put files into an actual directory and not just on c: good luck Bob

How do you merge two databases in UCT 52? Or for that matter, does anyone have a book out there for UCT 52?

Thanks for the info. I was having trouble finding SMTMaestro until Phil posted a link. I guess it is a little dated. Here is a quick demo of SMTMerge. https://youtu.be/nHe3-8kVHk4 Cheers, Bruce
