Re: Philips FCM

I am considering of Philips FCM for the next production. But I have heard a rumour saying this machine is not capable for checking the lead polarity due to the laser scan system. i.e. SOT might be populated in wrong direction.

Wave Solder Immersion Depth, Contact length, Dwell Time etc.

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 15 23:52:31 EST 2001 | Dreamsniper

Hey guys, I ran a couple of profile in our wave solder machine using wave optimizer and this is what i got: Parallelism = 0.0 Immersion Depth = 2.1mm to 2.4mm with varying immersion time from 1.1 sec to 3.1 secs. Contact Length = between 5.0 to 6.0

Re: Surface Mount Solder Balling

Electronics Forum | Fri May 29 16:07:55 EDT 1998 | Steve Gregory

Thanks Steve- Here is the whole story: The solder balls are appearing all over, similar to a splatter. They are relatively small. We are using H-Technologies S-HQ no-clean solder paste. The stencil is 6 mil and the boards are ru

Mydata Hydra and 0201 components

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 02 07:38:13 EDT 2005 | DannyJ

Hi Mike, I haven't tried the 0201s with a Hyrda, but after seeing 20 reviews of your message without a response, I'll try and share my experience with 0402s on a non-Hydra machine. The 0402s are slow, but I managed to get some speed by maxing out

Stencil Printing for 0201 Applications

Electronics Forum | Mon Sep 17 15:27:51 EDT 2001 | jschake

Challenges: The basic defects that impact assembly yield are bridging, satellite solder balls, and opens (i.e. tombstones / draw bridges). There are many variables with the stencil printing process that can impact these; several of them are listed

Main Points And checklist Of PCB Design

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 13 04:12:20 EST 2013 | hqew2013

Do you design or define PCB layouts? If so circuit board, what rules and checks do you have in place to make sure your results are... optimal? Over the years, I've created a PCB design checklist to keep me out of trouble. I share these nuggets with m

Time and temp in lead and lead-free reflow

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 25 15:54:22 EDT 2008 | pcbbuilders

I am trying to optimize my reflow profile. i have a 5 zone oven. lead-free: for the 1st 3 zones, i am good, at about 150-200 deg for 150 seconds. during the 4th zone, i am at a temp of 200-220 for 50 seconds. during the 5th zone, i am at 220-245 f

How much it costs to building a PCB factory?

Printer->Paste Inspection(which might be a feature of the printer)->High speed placer (for all the little parts)->Accurate Placer(for your BGA Processor,RAM,eMMC and big things that don't fit in the high speed)->Reflow oven->AOI->PCB stacker All of t

Dearest Jennifer, Ooooops! Forgot which one I was writing - please forgive me. Ah yes, SMT and you, you see even we don't get it right. If you combined all our answers, you would get close - as close as when we get frustrated. A

Polymide Films PWB

Electronics Forum | Thu May 06 18:31:29 EDT 2004 | Dreamsniper

"Polymide Films absorb a great deal of moisture. Polymide laminates must be baked at more than 1 hour at 100'C or better for a double sided PWB prior to exposing the laminate to elevated temperatures such as that required for soldering. Moisture abso
