Are you suggesting there may be some chemical incompatibility between paste/flux chemistries and the glue being used - thus intefering with the glue's ability to bond properly? I've only heard of this possibility, but never experienced it. Justin, St

IPC SM 782 has some info on wave solder pad geometries. We usually like .03" spacing to any uncommon conductors. I would assume that you are seeing shorts between components and vias or adjacent parts? Russ

Passive components are the one's that don't gain power on the output. The one's that do are called active components. Diodes, resistors, caps and inductors are examples of passive. Transistor is active component.
