subject board fabrication calls for .05 -.125um of gold over 2 - 5 um of nickel. When doing double sided reflow using same profile, parts of the gold are tarnishing and causing test pad failures. any ideas as to the cause?

We use a 2mm with our Pillarhouse Jade Mark II. We found that reducing the nitrogen enough that the area around the nozzle stays hot enough not to "freeze".

Thanks for the pointer tombstonesmt, I'll give that a shot. Being able to utilize this nozzle will help tremendously. I'll post results as they become available.

Hi, any idea what can cause 5% intermittent right component lead being bent during CTA transfer to the forks? Yet, everything is line up on these 2.5 mm lead span components.

on 10 zone ovens with 3 cooling zones, my negative slope is between 2.5 to 4 deg C/second based on board size and thermal mass.

With a reflow oven or BGA Rework Station I doubt you will get better than 2.5 minutes. Using a hot air pencil with about a 1/4" nozzle you can probably get 30 to 60 seconds depending on the density of your PCB?

Hello all, Does anyone here knows if it exist a special solder paste for diode laser soldering? What are the property that should have? Currently we are using a lead free solder with 2.5% flux. Thank you!
