That is exactly the problem I'm having. Not only is silicone an issue with military & aerospace customers but it isn't compatible with one of our water treatment additives. My usual pallet suppliers will only quote silicone. Thanks for the reply,

Thanks for replying... Unfortunately (or not) it isn't relevant anymore. Due to the effects of covid-19 we don't have any active aerospace customers anymore so (for now) we're only making leadfree products.

Some of our other divisions have had to do epoxy underfill with BGA devices to obtain adequate reliability for aerospace applications. Are there any special layout considerations required to ensure that we can do underfill if we deem it necessary du

Hi Does anyone know of any studies carried out comparing long term reliability of BGAs with their equivalent QFPs etc. If you were designing a critical product in the aerospace field would you go for the BGA or QFP version of the same IC? Based on

Agreed. Like I mentioned it before, all the leadfree solders are currently for consumer products. Military, aerospace & some automotive industry haven't implemented leadfree yet. They are still study which to go! Maybe by that time (finalized which t
