I think what Russ is getting at is that the granite table is used for it's flat surface to aid in measurement, the flat surface helps to measure heights very accuratly. If you add another surface on top of that then you lose what the granite surface

We have tested several that have come in to our facility and all the ones we have seen so far are ESD safe matierial (black). I'll take these over rubber bands any day!

Uh, Great Idea..... There is and has been ESD safe carpet for years. We have it in our manufacturing area right now.

This esd safe carpet is new to me. How is the carpet tested/maintained? Are you still wearing the typical foot strap or did they sell you some other kind of footwear? Sorry for "changing the initial subject" of this post.
