Yes, the solder pad on the PCB should match the pad on the part. This will minimize stress during the soldering process. Check out more on http://www.smtinfocus.com/papers_pbga.html Here you will fond some more informations on the process used in r

Did you try the online-calculator at the IPC-page. If you have the datasheet it should be no problem. For wave soldering I cant tell if its suitable for that particular part, but you should add extra pads at the end of each column to solderbridging

Jack: "Calculator/Other" works for me. But you know what, I'll bet they block Scotts from using it, because they're reputed to be too cheap to buy the standard. ;-) (Your component is in the standard. ;-)) If you can't get the supplier to help and

Finally got using the calculator guys, (used another server connection). Not sure about the data that is entered for 'solder joint analysis', any helpful hints? To touch on the subject of Scots people being 'cheap', I cant understand these rumours, w

Hi there, I am looking for dimensions of a surface mount component of 1806 case size (the component is an RF choke). I cannot find it in the PROTEL standard library, or even on the web. Please e-mail me directly or post it on the forum, if you have t

A suggestion for your stencil which works is as follows. Cut your stencil aperatures beyond your pads to a length of 0.1mm , this then allows the paste to pull back into the pad creating a blob of solder which can be inspected by AOI.Best length and

This could be the reason for the mask defined pad. ERROR in docs! This happens a lot. I believe this to be case honestly, I would not use mask defined pads for these. If you get a registration shift in mask which is likely you will run into troub
