Hi Happy New Year HASL fluxes Are very conductive so best advise is get it all off. thanks greg

The water soluble flux residue is staying there because the rinsing temperature it may be too low. The flux needs about 130-140 degrees celcius to become soft. If you are using water soluble flux, as per IPC A 610 standards it needs to be remove comp

celsius or fahrenheit? I am not entirely familiar with the deeper details of HASL, but 130F-140F is adequate to clean many of the water-soluble fluxes used for component soldering.

hi, finishing is lead free HAL, Tpeak=214-232*C in diferent profile, wich we made.

SN100C is popular for wave soldering: http://www.nihonsuperior.co.jp/english/products/leadfree/ Its good for Pb Fee solder finish for HAL on PCBs too. Wave solders better than gold finishes.

You are on the right track for sure Andrzej. Conditions 1 and 4 I see often enough, but I would also lean towards condition 1, like you. 'hege

Hi Syed, I'm a PCB engineer from China. First:Immersion gold surface finish is the best for PCBs. Second:HASL(Lead-Free HASL) Then:HAL(with lead) The cheapest surface finish is OSP(After 15 days will be oxidized)

Hi Forum. Is there anyone who can tell if an empty PCB with no SMD components mounted and HAL surface will get a less solderability after been running through reflow (convection). Eg. when testing empty PCB with temperture data logger. Regards Ole

Are they applying a dross reducing powder, like what you would use in a Wave solder pot?
