Dave, The saponifier (or any additive) will supply free ions and contaminate the DI water. If no contamination is introduced (very difficult) or if fresh hot DI water is constantly added as in a steam age chamber, the DI water will begin to obtain

It would help to run a carbon, anion, cation, mixed-bed configuration with pure DI as the final rinse. IF your incomming water is really bad you can run a RO unit to "prepare" the water for ion exchange. Do you run omega meter or ionograph testing

This may sound dopey, but it may be the answer to your question. ROSE testers from different suppliers produce different results. Look at MIL-STD 2000. Based on Table VII, you find the following upper control limits (micrograms NaCl / sq. in.): * M
