Chris, Are you sure about the joystick trackball statement? He said he is seing "bounce" when he steps through placements and when he trims mag positions. That would indicate a issue with the small x-mot system to me.

Do you have Kic or Mole? K You can call Kic and then can help you. You can attach to the top of the BGA. There was an article in one of the last few circuits assembly mag that should help you.

I believe you need 1.5.13 or higher if I'm not mistaken to run the mags with the button upgrade. There is no way around it that I am aware of.

We have cleaned the encoders even though they look pretty clean. The function clear doesnt have any effect on the machine while it is in this state. Have not checked the mag tracks but will give it a look.

Have you looked at cross-sectional analysis? If they can provide you details of where the failures are occurring, maybe you can chop one up and see exactly what's going on? We've done it once for our own engineering department and the results (not
