Re: Using SMT to mount rider cards to mother boards

Has anyone had any experience in using SMT to mount an organic (FR-4, Getek) rider card onto an organic (FR-4, Getek) mother board? By SMT I mean the attachment of the rider card would be through pads directly to pads on the mother board. Than

Hi everybody, Does someone have experience in the assesment of Surface Mount devices? For the moment we have the Must System II of Multicore but it is not effective to assess the solderability of Surface mount devices. Indeed the conditions are not

JEDEC defines packaging, matrix trays, tape and reel, and like whatnot. You need to be searching ANSI and IPC. Find these documents: * ANSI/J-STD-020, Moisture/Reflow Sensitivity Classification for Plastic Integrated Circuit Surface Mount Devices *

Your ppl are correct, the capacitor is not sealed. So, it is perfectly acceptable for the capacitor to have absorbed moisture. If your ppl don't either prevent moisture absorption or remove the moisture prior to soldering, their component could fail

Tell us what the rest of the descriptions are. for example SMD can mean surface mount device or if they are decribing a tant cap it probably means "D" or 7343 package, I see diodes labeled as SMB, SMA, etc.. which also relates to size. So who knows?
