It's it curious that NASA requires 'Thickness measurements shall be made with a wet film thickness gauge or equivalent tool' yet specifies 'cured thickness' as a measure. Why do you recon they do that?

We just measure the coupon before and after. We are always btw .002" - .003" acrylic. No auditor will say a word if you are doing this much control. Unless its NASA I suppose..... we've never had a problem with any of the avionics guys doing this tho

NASA won't allow a pure tin finish in space. Any part with a pure tin finish must be recoated.

Usually the print specifies the material since the design is qualified with it in place. I've used several from Scotchweld 2216, Scotchweld DP190, Hysol E-20HP, to NASA outgassing qualified Masterbond 10HT.

Toyota was looked at because of the problems they had, I was led to believe that the outcome was determined to be the petal size and location. If other auto manufacturers equipment was looked at I wonder if tin wiskering would be found? I think Toy
