I want to do improvement in conversion time. We running small quantity board and frequently do conversion. we produce very simple board no BGA only resistor, capacitor, LED, IC and transistor. We are running same model top and bottom in 1 reflow oven

To monitor the reflow profile is very important. We are doing profile every week(Monday). Out customer asked us daily check at first. We checked daily but we changed the checking period from daily to weekly after discussing about it with our customer

Absolutely ok!! We already co-use the same profile setting for top and bottom side to avoid line efficiency loss for more than 10 years. But only one thing you should careful is the heavy mechanical parts on bottom side may drop during reflow proces

It depends. Issues are: * Are your processes 'in control and capable?' * How often do you change product runs? * Do your jobs run across shifts?

That is why we don't care if it is Top or Bottom. We call them first (process) side and second (process) side. Often you will have tall and heavy parts on both sides, so you will have to glue them.

We are not having any real issues. I am just first setting up a lead free profile, and was looking for a starting place. So far it's going well. Can you tell me more about why your paste would be better and I'll pass that on to the decision makers?

starting point with zone settings would be, 100 / 160 / 200 / 225 / 260 deg C...but you'll have to check the exact profile on the pcb with a reflow profiler....making sure you meet the paste spec and making sure you don't heat any devices up to quic
