we do a similar thing but make the template from paper, we just print out an image from the gerbers (to size) showing both sides in different colours, we set this down on the table (had to work out first where the correct position was) then we place

There is a quick change dedicated tooling solution. It involves a "h-tower" and a machined vacuum (or non-vacuum) plate. There are two 8mm threaded holes on the table that are there for support tooling interface. The tower or tooling bolts to thos

Avillaro, I don't have hands on experience with Vapor Phase equipment, but my guess is that it will work better for thick boards like yours. Trying another chemistry is a logical move. May be it is worth trying the fixture for connector flatness as n

Grid-lok or Quick-Tool work extremely well. There's no putting stuff together. You drop them in and go. Problem with templates is that you need to update them with rev changes. If you run hundreds of jobs this can become a nightmare.

There were some issues with the older grid-lok systems that have been resolved in the newer designs. We run them in all of our printers and Fuji chip shooters. The only issue we see is that the air pressure may need adjusted on thin boards.

Very good practical solution from Darby, I was going to say sample board or picture. in the old days we would have a board with location marks Bob Willis

I would agree with Sr Tech..Grid lock and systems like this can be used on the Ekra, MPM and DEK printers also can be used in Pick and place depending on the density of pin. If you choose the method of printing out a 1:1 photoplot. Glue it to a piece
