Call Heller directly, and give them the oven, and relative thermal density of the board, as well as the solder paste that you're using. They'll be able to give you a baseline profile to start from (both RTS and RSS). Otherwise, use a thermocouple p

You should evaluate products from Datapaq, Electronic Controls Design, and Kic Thermal Profiling. Each sells very good reflow profiling equipment. Beyond the straight forward issues surrounding the question of "Does this thing produce a good profi

UP78 is an old product. Data sheets are no longer posted on the web site. OM-5100 is the replacement. Try calling tech support and they should e-mail you the UP78 data sheet that will show the profile curve. Jersey City, NJ Tel: 201-434-6778 http://

Really...?? We have always had excellent results with Datapaq. What are the problems you've had? FYI: We did an evaluation with Data Paq VS KIC. DataPaq won hands down...... I am really interested to hear.

We use a universal recipe for 90% of our products. But, I had to develop a temperature profile for each PCB to know that I was getting the correct temperature at the PCB. You may need to work a weekend or a couple of late nights to get the data. Go

Thank's Pete, I know is an old product but I would know its reflow thermal profile because I'm not sure about it. It's a linear melting or an melting with soak zone ? I haven't data on alphametals.com ...

Pete, We have 2 Vapor Phase ovens and use a profiler from Data Pak that has a sleeve that seals out the Vapor for these ovens. This is pretty much the only system that we have found for these kinds of ovens. Contact them and they will hook you up.Tha

You must thermally profile your circuit boards with a data-logger and thermocouples. Just putting in oven set points and looking at solder joints is not enough. Reference IPC-7530

In 25 years of profiling, I have never seen a reflow profile make TOMBSTONES better. I have had "experts" come in an adjust our ovens to the "magic profile." The AOI data has never shown improvement from profile changes. EVER...EVER. As long as you
