If you can, attach athermocouple to the locations where you are getting solder balls. A previous product I had showed the same thing and we found that we had inadequate preheat leaving the liquid flux to splatter when it hit the wave. It could aslo

At the price of Durapol we'd never get the OK to have them made. The Al fixtures are cheap and a quick turn local item. As dense as the pth parts are I also don't think there'd be any room for any holes which I really think is the answer as far a

Steve , I agree with all the responses you have received. Randy Villeneuve is absolutly correct in all of his assesments and I would consider him an expert with the process , Gris is correct about adding a "heat sink" to the process complicating pr

Hi, I think the comment about the board height is because the MYDATA checks the board height each time it loads a tool so this is eliminated from being an issue because the machine knows the PCB height. I don't think it's so much what height the PCB

Don't blame it on the poor paste thickness requirement [although I might go on to argue that it's could be a contributor to the issue]. Most likely you're the problem. About 70% of the time solder on gold fingers is caused by poor cleaning of screen

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Why not figure-out and correct the cause these solder splatters? Lets talk about whats going on here. Tell us about component, near-by components, solder, bare board, soldering method, process, et

any of you guys got any ideas to clear up this stuff of the package surface?? I know this is just a cosmetic defect but one of our packages get splatters on the marking area so this is something I have to fix... inputs are very much welcome...

Are you doing this to minimize solder paste splattering? Is this a value that you use for all QFN's (would the overall size of a QFN matter)? I was told reducing placement force with these components is recommended so just was wondering what is bein

Can you describe your solder balls...mid-chip solder balls, "splatter" around pads, etc.?
