Thermocouple Design

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 05 09:17:40 EDT 2007 | itaig1

I have seen a method used where the pins on the connector are of the same materials as the thermocouple and the connector is connected via single strand wires of the same material to the PCB however the wires were spot welded to bare copper pads to r

LGA Solder Balls

Also try monitoring your temperature profile with a temp sensor independent of the machine, maybe your heating element isn't spiking quite as well as it used to ? sarason

Electrically-Conductive Tapes application advice?

Electronics Forum | Sun Aug 02 19:47:16 EDT 2009 | isd_jwendell

Now that I've seen the pics... Soldering could work just fine. If you are going for large production then you could get copper discs cut and mounted in tape carrier ($$). This would make it very easy for automated equipment to assemble. Mounting a

Measuring solder level in wave soldering machine

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 01 16:21:41 EDT 2020 | emeto

It is usually done differently. Sensor is in the solder. Once solder becomes goes below the sensor, it triggers you need to add. I believe it measures temperature rather than distance.

Electrically-Conductive Tapes application advice?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 28 13:27:31 EDT 2009 | davef

It's possible that there is limited application of "3M™ XYZ-Axis Electrically Conductive Adhesive Transfer Tape 9719" similar to your intended use. What do 3M™ application types say? Certainly high temperature soldering would make a mess of a piezoc

DIMA smro 0406 is good machine or not for doing lead free reflow

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 10 16:14:37 EST 2014 | jimpat

The 300 degrees is the temperature as measured at the sensor. The actual air temperature just above your PCB may actually be much less. If the oven is properly calibrated then the 300 should represent air temperature at the board but I have seen ma

Batch Ovens

Electronics Forum | Sat Nov 05 07:17:25 EST 2005 | JeffP

That was the case with your oven but it is not so with ours. First, the distance from walls of the inner chamber to the product differs from one oven to another. Second, the dissipation of heat from metal heats up the air in the oven which in turn h

problem with vapor phase

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 12 15:56:13 EDT 2013 | pjchonis

Vapor phase soldering systems by Asscon are characterized by special designed heating modules. The thermal mass of the heating modules is designed so that a completely delay-less and direct regulation of the heat/flow/energy transfer to the soldering

Soldering

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 05 17:30:02 EST 2001 | davef

How do you know that "approx 450C" is "too high"? As a side, the temperature on the temperature sensor is: * Inaccurate. * Not the temperature at the solder. Listen, operators are smart people. They have figured-out that they can solder faster wi

BGA rework

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 26 09:11:04 EDT 2004 | Daniel

Thanks, We currently use Metcals for our regular work and I was looking at the ERSA system for the BGA rework. From what I have seen it seems simple to use, and since it uses IR you dont need all the attachments for different size BGAs. You just
